Notes About The Poem

For Tania Kitchin's A Spooky Haunted Poem 8-12 Lines Of Rhyme Poetry Contest

Haunted House

If you find your child in a room
speaking aloud, but no one’s around,
and sometimes late at night you hear
a constant creepy, clanging sound . . .

If you’re in your bathtub bathing
and you get an eerie feeling -
perhaps a voice repeats your name;
strange shapes slide across the ceiling. . .

If week by week the darkness grows;
goosebumps keep raising on your skin;
then something pulls your covers off!
A haunted house you must be in.

Sounds like it when I’m visiting my grandparents, always tinkering about in the kitchen, of which I stay clear until my parents are up and about, and I peek before entering, but too late as grandpa goes boo! Kid you not, he goes on laughing as I scurry back to my room. They say not to make myself be that way and walk right in, say good morning, and be comfortable~bless their souls.
