Haunted
Through sunken, tired eyes,
I gaze at my reflection.
Through hollow expectations,
I seek some small connection.
A broken man, less than whole,
I wander a crooked path.
I wonder what I could have done,
to hide from destiny's wrath.
Along the way, I lost myself,
to shallow, selfish causes.
And found myself in solitude,
counting all my losses.
I spent my life in mourning,
a fleeting memory.
I cast my coins in troubled water,
and found there only misery.
Betrayed by my own heart,
I fell into this lifeless place.
Trapped within this darkness,
haunted by my disgrace.
