Haunted

Haunted by these nights,
I can't sleep,
Haunted by a fear that's
too deep,
Haunted by things I remember,
Haunted by a Tuesday in September,
Haunted by planes in the sky,
Haunted that so many did die,
Haunted by fear unfocused,
Haunted by fears thicker than locusts,
Haunted by words that you said,
Haunted by the thought of the dead,
Haunted by the note that I read,
Haunted by your words that day,
Now knowing you've gone away,
That note that you left,
Just before you were taken by death,
My heart crumbled with the towers,
My life bleeding from the showers,
Of missing you,
What did they do?
