Haunted

Shapeless shadows, silently
shifting, dancing and hiding,
twirling, twisting. Swirls of
incense, odorless perfume,
vapor tinged with mist. Silver
shimmer, hopeless glimmer,
beauty in the eye, yet the
prospects, dimmer. Candlelight
flickers a desperate glow,
soulless illumination.Lost in all
those familiar places, years
pass by, changing faces. Faith
which fades, dies away. Envy in
the glow. Whisper on a silent
breeze, amusement in a frigid
tease, longing for the warmth,
raped so long ago.
