Hating Consequences
HATING CONSEQUENCES
weather changes moods
sliced cream cakes are
being digested
with nothing left to offer
dead ancestors
films become meaningless
old newspapers headlines
being digested
as stones we are too numbed
to communicate
constantly our beds sail
through novel sunsets due
grappling for relief
we struggle to forget
life’s lesson of regret
