-hate-

Daily Poetry #69, April 7, 2017
Word: Hate

I
have tried
many times
to hate people,
but each attempt fails.
For some reason I Can’t
explain, I don’t have that piece,
that mentality, others have.
To hate others would only be the
fault of this being here, just my pettiness.
It is okay that I can’t hate others?
Or is hate what fuels this spinning world?
For every time I do, I find
myself coming back to say
“I’m sorry” out of guilt.
Hate, hate, I wonder
when, in your eyes,
it will turn
into
like.
