Harry the Heathen Haddock

[A couple… ONLY TWO?… of you have wondered about my recent absence from Soup. I’m on a personal challenge to write 52 poems for kiddies… maybe, only maybe, to put a booklet together. My mind doesn’t naturally do ‘kiddy think’ so it’s stretching me a bit.

This little ode, I felt was too grown up for kiddies, but I rather like it so I thought I’d share it with you lot ;-) ]

Harry the haddock swam proud in the sea He said there is no fish that looks down on me I told him of one and he looked at me odd And said I’m not sure that there’s really a Cod

Am I staying? Hmmm… my nature is such that I have to finish what I start. I’d read a bad book to the end in case it got better, I’d watch a bad movie right through for the same reason… my kiddie poems are doing my head in… but I just gotta finish them. Only then will my brain let me think anew. So I will be back, I hope it’s soon. Glad you enjoyed this one, Deb. Terry x

Posted this in response to your and Angela’s enquiries. One of a few that seemed slightly too mature for kiddies. Good job really… otherwise I’d have to draw a haddock! Ha ha… Terry

Just between you and me and the gatepost, Tom, I find myself wondering if sitting back and watching a slaughter is sapping my humour… is it? I don’t know… but not much seems funny right now. Is my ‘project’ an escape? I don’t know. I suspect that a bullet hole in Putin’s head would flick my funny switch… here’s hoping. I am well and I am engrossed in ‘stuff’ but sooner or later I’ll get the ‘funny’ back… you have been warned! Cheers. Terry

Glad you liked this, Gary. Trying to second guess a child’s mind isn’t my forte, but this kinda tickled me. Cheers. Terry
