Hardwood Oceans Between Lovers

She stood drifting around back and forth
on her shoeless naked feet
on the scorching sand dunes
reminiscing on the horizon
of all the summers she and he 
spent together watching sunsets
taking selfies and free diving in the waves
but today she is left all alone
navigating the ocean of hardwood
without him by her side
