Harder Than Saying Goodbye

I picked up my phone, There was a message from you, When I read it, My heart fell to the floor. Your parents don’t like me, And they want to keep us apart, Yet somehow you still love me, And I have no idea why. Goodbyes aren’t forever, They just mean “see you later”, You told me you’ll come back to me, And I know you will. But it’s still a hard pill to swallow, Because the only thing harder than saying goodbye, Is waiting for the day when you’ll come back to me.
