Hard Words
It's hard to say "I'm walking away"
when I see your innocent face
looking back at me;
you make me feel like a butcher
taking a lamb for slaughter-
a lamb that is loyal and naive.
My desire for you is faded in my soul,
and all remains is the residue
of some of our beautiful past.
I just wish I was brave enough to say
what I've written.....
