Hard To Say Goodbye
On a feather guided by unseen hands from up on high, you entered our lives and nothing was ever the same again.
A smile like the sun and a voice like church bells rung, your laughter made us smile from so deep within.
Stories you told like the bard of old, held all who heard like children on Christmas day.
My tears my fears, all the sadness chased so far away, by being near made life a new each and every day.
Little embers of light and heat like that from kindling of a campfire, the orange red glow would spark my soul, knowing soon your beauty I would behold.
Life though is never simple, and now memories of you are all I have left, with a picture in its gilded frame for me to hold.
You went away I know not why, and the tears did build and settle like leaves on a well-kept still garden pond.
As the smoke drifts high caught by a breeze, thoughts of you still linger on, time heals all they say but not for me, because It’s hard to say the words farewell, goodbye.
