Happy To You
They bounce upon a trampoline
And climb and charge at bubbles.
When watching pre-school kids convene
You might forget your troubles.
For as they scamper, scoot and slide
Their joy is quite contagious
Except those glued to mommy’s side,
Too shy or not courageous.
A birthday party at a gym
Is fun and not too taxing
For chances of a mess are slim
So parents are relaxing.
At playtime’s end, the pizza shows;
Then cake has its debut time.
We sing the song that Hadley* knows
Is her “Happy to you!” time.
*my just-turning-2 year old granddaughter,
who has been singing this song for weeks
