Happy New Year 2021

Now listen here, it is Happy New Year
A time resolutions are made
The best of intention, but I think circumvention
Will show once again we have strayed

I know it is true, the things that we do
To keep resolution alive
We know we will fail, good intentions will sail
Out the window, and take a nosedive

A new year has begun, it's time to have fun
Have a break from the year that's gone by
A quick jab or two, may just get us through
We kiss this lousy virus goodbye

Twenty twenty one, the old year on the run
We can hope that things will get better
If it goes the right way, we'll be able to say
Let's find lady luck and go get her
