Happy New Year

Happy New Year My neighbor wished me happy New Year But lamented things would be unchanged As we're still contending with the virus And people are acting as if deranged. I contemplated what she said And, factually, it is quite true But 2022 will be unique Because, after all, it is new. For me, this word is energizing Both a challenge and an invitation Indeed, the world will have its troubles But inherent to humans is innovation. We've seen as much in recent months And what '22 brings, who can know? So, joining hearts with all mankind Into this newness I will happily go. Molly Moore
