Happy For a Few
I'm happy for a few moments
I can taste the droplets of rain the leaves shake from their limbs
I can walk beside my shadow and not seek intimidation
I can even let my shadow over shadow me
I'm happy for the days I thought my sun set in too early
Or the days when death kept me company at night
I'm happy for a few moments
I have watched my family betray me and I smiled
Kinda knew it would end like this
Without a bloodline to trace back
I'm happy for a few moments
All the things I've lost and given away
Will return to me and everyone
I give you my happiness
Although it will never last me
Let it be my gift to you for eternity
My friends, My family, My enemies
