Happy B'Day To You
A cake
Lighted candles
Cheering friends around
they laugh and you join them
Flashing cameras
Glistening, beautiful gifts...
It's full
Your world...
I should stop wondering
why I couldn't find space there
It's your B'day
It's wonderful time
A happy moment,
when you blow the candles..
No hesitation, no pauses
I see,
It was a clean cut
which gave you no pain
no sign
Like I never existed,
Like there were no B'days
that we celebrated together,
that I baked your cake,
I lighted your candles,
I did stand your side when you blow them...
It feels like I was dreaming
so real, so touching
I might have imagined
hallucinations they must be
all in my head
Or were they real?
Please make me understand
Was it real?
When it seems you never knew me
Like I never existed in your world...
It takes my breath
cause me pain
But I'm all glad
coz' you seem happy...
It doesn't matter
that I'm there
or not,
who holds your hand...
To me
it matters
Your happiness
Glow in your eyes
When you're happy....
I've given you
the best gift I could..
I gave the space
in your world
to the one who deserves...
to the one you love...
