Happy

Happy

I’ve found a happy medium
Beyond my torment and disgrace
My eyes close and reopen
To a different dimension
To a horrid place
Lost and to no journey’s end

 I say grace
And recite Bible verses
But the devil withstands

I fly above ground
And knock my way out
I swim in the sea
And eat berries
My heart beats fast
And I gasp for breath

I blink and pinch myself awake
That is if it works

Opened doors refuse to shut
The enemy is a nut
A long chase leads to nowhere
Sometimes gore
Sometimes blood
But surely defeat
On my end of the rut
