Happiness Within

People say I never smile
My enthusiasm is rather mild
Stoic is my style

Mister gray and gloomy
Somewhat blue and moody
But I answer phooey

Don't judge a book by its cover
turn the pages
Who knows what there is to discover
True joy resides inside
Happiness within my friend
Happiness within my friend

Being silly is not my way
Seriousness
doesn't mean Johnny never plays
A false smile chills all hearts
Forced joy makes all depart
Goofy action leads to retraction
Just be yourself for joyful satisfaction

Friends and family know
I may not look like a Happy Ole Joe
But happiness within
Begins with a slight grin
And when I smile
It's always worthwhile

G'day Fritz … you wrote it all; don't judge a book by its cover. Too many fall for this trick - thanks Fritz - Lindsay
