Notes About The Poem

Happiness Fifteen Minutes At a Time

When I see my day in chunks of fifteen minutes
It’s impossible to feel overwhelmed
I feel blessed with newfound freedom

Take a bath
Read a few pages
Walk to the corner of the street

Take in a few sunrays
Stop and listen to a bird chant
Take a photo or two of an awesome bloom

Appreciate the cloud up in the sky
Marvel at the ant’s herculean feat at my feet
Give a quick call to my mom

Take a few deep breaths outdoors
Sketch the graceful lines of an orchid
Count the raindrops as they hit my window

Dance to a favorite song
Call a friend
Hug my lover

When I see my day in chunks of fifteen minutes
It’s impossible to feel overwhelmed
And I feel blessed

Pack it in--but not packing it in! (LOL)… Methinks you actually left one (very important) thing out, i.e., 'pen a poem.' Oh, Gershon...….There you go again! --Criticizing what deserves only praise! :) gw

LOL Indeed I love to leave gaps between the lines leaving room for teamwork. Thanks for your much appreciated contribution, Gershon, to this far from complete list.

Thank you so much, Heidi. This poem is more of a 'note to self' that I need to reread over and over so it will sink in.

I always have to set a timer and only let myself clean in fifteen minute increments, knowing if I can get through 15 minutes, I can set it for another 15 minutes and I do not get overwhelmed. I have done this for many years. My daughters think you have to set the timer to clean, not understanding why I have always done this.

LOL the joys of time management of mismanagement... as long as we keep finding what works for us. Thanks for your lovely visit and comment, Caren.

Great strategy Line, this is well stated. It is easy to be overwhelmed by all the things we have to do but just being aware, appreciative of life and it will reward you. Thanks for sharing.
