Happiness

I am happy not that I live a perfect life
Life has been a challenge as I strive 
The challenge that has made the heart weak
But today I am happy.

I walk with a smile that will cover my face
Long have I been looking upon this day
The change of my life as it’s been a mission
But the mission that has been beyond reaches.


I was humble towards you as your thorns weaken me
Light has shone upon I and toady I am happy
The life I dreamed of is within reach
Let’s part and never let our ever converge again. 
I am glad that I let you go before you ruin my life
Little I notice about you as I open my heart for you
The times I was with you left holes to me
But now I realize that you were the thorn.

I am glad you enjoyed the poem Open Sores. I do like your poem here, on happiness. I normally do not give much advice or read many poems on here at all b/c I spend so much time as an editor. If I may give you one piece of love about this poem... If you cut six -THAT's- out of this, it would make a very good poem into an absolutely amazing creation. I come to you with this in 100% humility, love, and peace. At least try and read it without the six -THAT's-and tell me what you think. ~JSL
