Happenings

I drove through the fog with a sunshine glow
Wondering what I’d see when it lifts, needing to know
Would it be the woods, mountains or people hand in hand?
Rivers flowing through valleys or instead, flat open land?

No, it was you, standing there waiting for me
Through all those miles when I couldn’t see
I now saw your smile and I was relieved
You handed me truth, for all I believed

Your love is patient, there was no doubt
Immediately I knew, what this is all about
I looked into your eyes with a smile and said, “I love you”
You’re the conclusion to all the happenings I’ve been through
