Hapless Collapse

Spring necked victim
                  Will be decked again
                  For pure amusement
                Of fast pummelling fists

              Layered bruise symptoms
              Display punching bag pain
               No retaliation movement
            While heavy assault persists

               Swung away, come back
                For more of life's abuse
                 Copping it on the chin
               Brings rhythm of survival

             Waiting for following whack
                 Knuckle impact profuse
                 Tenderised gums begin
                  To resettle sidewards

                  Jutted out awkwardly
                  Jaw a crooked angle
               Punished and punched up
               Laughs with sinister taint

              Prospect guaged morbidly
                 From unwieldy wrangle
           Sippping from near empty cup
              Limping with wounded gait

                   Fractured face suffers
                Receipt of endless blows
                 Dislodged red teeth spat
                 Are metallic meant to be

                  True opinions muffled
             Turn other cheek advice goes
               Superbly for great diplomat
                  - For irate me, dismally

Hey Sigrid your a tough cookie, you sure beat the crap out of this poem, I love a fighter, pent up rage needs release, I have a boxers speedball set up, when I’m working out, Rammstein on full blast, feuer frei! or links 2 3 4, instant release that ball doesn’t know what hit it, this is brilliant, hope you K.O. the competition in the contest, cheers David

I've never read a poem about a boxing match before, well done. Very raw and 'in your face' so to speak. Nice allegory in the last stanza. Well done, all the best in the contest ~ John

Ha! Yes, totally in your face....! Yes, comparing a punishing life with being beaten. Kai tends to prefer a more literal poem to match Contest name than what I've previously entered in his.
