Hand To Mouth

Not a dime in my pocket not a dollar at the bank. Hand to mouth is how I live, if the pay cheque late dry crackers is my breakfast, lunch and dinner… hand to mouth ...hand to mouth is how I live.

I stop answering the phone the bill collectors know my number not sure they know I don't have it today, it's only the 5th ...hand to mouth ...hand to mouth is how I live ...no light... no water ...all I can do is pray for the 25th ... counting the days, counting the hour, my knees are black from my days of praying on the hard-cold ground...hand to mouth is how I live.

long for some fish and rice with a little vegetable on the side ...maybe a glass of lemonade to help to glide down that scrumptious delight ...tired of the dry crackers my tongue long to salivate... hand to mouth...hand to mouth... is how I live, one more day to wait ...thanks God it's the 25th.
