Hand Me Your Heart

Hand me your heart, and I will hold it here Tenderly, so you will feel no pain Lean in to me, and whisper in my ear Though words be blown like leaves, and are unclear Your pulse echoes the drumming of the rain Hand me your heart, and I will hold it here Look around you, what is there to fear? If we are lost, we’ll pass this way again Lean in to me, and offer me your ear And wandering, remember I am near My love’s a constant note, and it sustains Hand me your heart, and I will hold it here It flutters like a bird, I think I hear It’s fragile song, which cannot be contained. Lean in to me, and sing it in my ear Your breath’s a breeze, my heart a weather vane I know you now, and nothing is the same Hand me your heart, and I will hold it here Lean in to me, and whisper in my ear.
