Hamster

When I was twelve
And summer break had just started
I wanted a hamster
My parents promised

I never got it

They said I asked about it
Way too much
And for some reason
It left more than surface cuts

Now I'm fourteen
Summer break is underway
I'm sitting in my room
And I wish a hamster was what I'm crying about

This is a sad poem.Sometimes it takes time to get what we want in life.
