Halloween Was Near

The cat was in the moonlight clear.
Arching his back, quite full of fear.

Jack-o-lanterns were rather dear.
Showing fierceness with toothy leer.

Goblins, ghosts and spooks in the mirror
Added to the ambiance of fear.

The older kids did laugh and jeer
Some of them possibly sneaking beer.

A wild screeching in my inner ear
Let me know Halloween was very near.

Enjoy Halloween dear Caren unfortunately here in South Africa very few people celebrate this day and event - I feel like visiting the USA over Halloween to experience this spooky day and night. Very enjoyable poem my friend. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

You need to come to Kansas City and visit the haunted houses.
