Halloween Is Upon Us

Halloween Is Upon Us

As the earth reaps the harvest
Of trees shedding their colors bold
Pumpkins wear smiles carved
And the air shares a bit of the cold

Adorned scarecrows gaily dressed
Displayed about the neighborhoods
Dangling ghosts and bats dance
As the wind blows through the woods

As the twilight hour approaches
To trick or treat becomes the ruse
Bags in hand from door to door
Children dressed in costumed muse

Hello Debra, Thanks for stopping by. Shadows only exist because of the light. Wow! I'll remember that. Hope it's not too spooky down there in the swamp this time of year. Just having a little fun at your expense. I know you don't live in a swamp. :) Have a great day. Your friend Bob.

Halloween and smiles! That's new to me. Too many scary films, perhaps! A great write, Debra! The verses are so fluid; I like the rhythm! Have nice days! Love, Hanitra

The worms will crawl and the snakes will bite. All the dead bodies come out at night. The children play like it's daylight. The cold damp air is filled with fright. Jason lurks around the corner. No nursery rhyme about Jack Horner. The cloak of doom hangs over head. If your not careful, you'll end up dead. Yes Halloween's upon us, true. Have a wonderful spooky night. Boo! :) Hi Debra, Thanks for the inspiration, it was fun.
