It has always amazed me how the "ghouls" prey on young innocents on Halloween. It take a dark soul indeed to tamper with treats and give mean-spirited tricks on Halloween. Even when I was a child, mom would not let me eat any candy that wasn't fully in its original wrapper. Halloween was still a fun event for youngsters, but the "innocent angels" could not comprehend the evil in men's hearts. Powerful haiku series, dear friend, and I wish you well in the contest. Love, Carolyn

Great writing, John. These halloween joy seekers are certainly more at risk from humans than from ghosts and goblins. Great reminder to thoughtless parents. Love, Joyce
