Halloween
Halloween
There was movement on All Hallows Eve with stirrings all around
The moon was full against the blood red sky.
I wondered if I’d make it home before the dead returned
Would creepy Zombies stop me in my tracks?.
Descending shadows came and went, just who was lurking by?
I wondered why I ventured out this night.
In darkness saw their silhouettes all walking down the street
The witches, ghosts and zombies were all there.
What was that noise, my ears pricked up I heard a cackle low
“She’s over there, don’t let her get away.”
Throughout the gloom this ugly crowd were coming now for me
Quick run you fool don’t let them catch you up.
The moon was bright to light my way, with dread I ran like mad
Saw witches on their broomsticks zoom through trees.
Black cats were running all around, and floating ghosts sped by
If caught I know there would be no escape.
Just up the path I saw the door, but fumbled with my key
And right before it turned, I felt a hand.
“Ha Ha, you fool I’ve got you now, tonight you join our world
A living Zombie you will aways be.”
I turned and saw his lifeless face, let out an open scream
Then I woke up, it was a nightmare dream.
T’was then I heard a rapping sound and giggling at my door
I opened it and this is what I saw.
Some ghosts and zombies, witches too, all grinning up at me
I rushed inside a found my lolly jar.
Gave treats and sweets to each child there, they left I shut the door
Made sure I turned the key now just in case.
So, if you see a blood red sky and witches riding by
It’s sure to be the night of Halloween.
