Hallo God
Oh God, I think I’m gonna thank you a million times
And when I’m done, I’ll still thank you some more
Here you have me thinking
Even before I’ve opened my eyes to catch the light of dawn
In my mind you’ve already arranged it all
Yesterday I was worried what today I’d write
Now here I am with ideas from my dreams of the night
I don’t know of which first to write
But before I write a thing
I just wanna take a moment to thank Thee
For yet another day I hope will be splendid
Thanks for all the days before that have brought me to this
And thanks in advance for the better days that shall still be
Since I already have most of what is meaningful to me...
I’m gonna take this opportunity that would’ve been mine to ask a favour
To ask still another favour... not mine but for others
Please find it in your kind heart to send them my warmest regards
Please find it in your time to deliver them all the goodwill and good wishes I offer
Please find it in your power to help them in all ways you deem fit
Please find it in your wisdom to guide them to the doors concealed in the walls
blocking their roads
For at the end of the day
All my luck and happiness would be valueless
If somewhere within my subconscious’ reach
A friend isn’t as lucky or as happy
What a beautiful life... this that you’ve presented us
How I pray that each of us beneficially uses his or hers
As for mine, well...
I’m glad it has dawned on my cognition to praise you first
Now if you kindly may
Let me throttle off after my Skippy heart
For I see in these streaks of morning sun
The promise of delight and fun
Hey God, you know you’re my number one pal
So come along to my table for a while
Join Me, Myself and I as we play with words
I promise it’ll be fun
