Hair Down, Lips On

I hate this place. they made me come hair down, lips on to “join the fun” another drink. I sip and stare they laugh, I try but nothing’s there but now they hush, something is new one points it out they show me you I look away this is not me but one more glance says it could be I try my best to catch with eyes always you slip my gaze won’t find but then my hopes re-lit anew your walk on down to join our crew but soon enough... of course I’m wrong, I was never the “pretty” one she wins again the knight is hers the dog will bark the kitten purr when night is done we’ll all go home them to their knights I’ll sleep alone I hate this place. they made me come hair down, lips on to watch their fun

Nicely written, Unknown E, even men can relate to this... "they go home to fan the flame ~ as I go home with one I came - myself." John
