True sadness in this one. We think of deers running, stopping in headlights, chewing on bushes, but not the one who never saw the light of day.

Oh, how sad this is. If one has ever had a wild deer come close and personal and you look into those dark brown huge eyes, you would never be able to pull the trigger and kill one for food unless you were pretty darn hungry. There are deer at the Grand Canyon wandering the parking lot that are so tame they walk right up to you and almost let you pet them. I believe tourists feed them which is why they are not afraid. I think I enjoyed seeing the deer up close as much as I did the Grannd Canyon.

Because of the vulnerability of life, many people do not survive. Anne-Lise, you have written a fantastic haiku.

'Tis sad one. We have so many around here and they will eat anything we try to grow but I still feel for them. We have so many bobcats and coyotes now until I really don't see how they survive. Thanks for the visit to my page and taking time to leave a comment. Sara

Very sad. It died before it had a chance to live. Good like in the contest, Sunshine Smile. I hope you enjoyed a pleasant weekend. Take care, Shirley.

Reading about Basho inspired me in my first attempts at writing haikus. You've done a great job with yours, Anne-Lise. Blessings and hugs, Evelyn

I'm no expert on Basho. Seems to me it is a well written haiku. Hugs.
