Haiku In the Tropics

steady warming sun

                             shimmering waves cresting spray

                                        flock of flying fish

In India Sun is usually harsh, warm only for a month or two in winter, and even then I was attracted to the Haiku. It reminded me of two months I spent in Ooty, a hill station here, where I hardy saw the sun and felt its absence.

Reminds me of my trip to the Maldives years ago, when I saw fish fly. Lovely, evocative imagery :)

They really do fly and it is an awesome sight to behold, a bit dangerous too if they hit you. A great haiku Mo! : )

Beautiful imagery, I'm there, Maureen. The " flock of flying fish" flew into my boat. It took me a good 20 minutes to release them back into the sea.~Warren

I am there; can see those fish, flying out of the water; leaping and playing and splashing the waters. A fabulous read, great imagery and flow.
