Haiku Compilation

dust laden kids toys
in a box in the attic
when will they come down?

a tiny heart beats
pain and joy are intertwined
dusted teddy waits

Top Haiku question Timothy Hicks

Bottom Haiku conclusion Richard Lamoureux

Poem the result of my asking about a form that Tim had written.

The dust and the Teddy Bear are like The Wind And The Lion . Love the image in the theater of the mind. The attic and the basement are places where dreams go to die or sometimes come back to life. Nice read thank you Richard.

Thanks Michael, each time I see your avatar I think of a young Rod Stewart.

Hope teddy gets lots of hugs! Good job you two! Don't laugh, but I still have a teddy a friend gave to me when I was in the States....when I'm awfully lonely or sad...(with my daughter away and hubby traveling it happens)...teddy shares my bed. :)

I never had a teddy bear, I had a big stuffed dog I called bully.

This is fun and I think it turned out great :) The 'tiny heart beat' was a nice touch. Now that I've read this all the way through I halfway regret putting the word "kids" in there. Isn't it obvious toys are for kids? Lol... I'll let you know when I come up with something for the second mondo!

I like the haiku Richard, I don't like storing toys. I don't think the dust will do them any good... However, i hope teddy falls into the arms of a loving child.. a good home, a home that will not store him away... Linda

I agree we should take them out so that we are the benificiaries of all those smiles. As I read this poem I now realize it can be taken more than one way. I hope it is not a source of pain as that would be my last intention.
