Cool win, Jan. Congrats to you. I hope I can figure out about metaphors in the haiku. I have one I want to post but not sure he will see it as purely descriptive or metaphorical.

Very lovely imagery, Jan. The dolphins' arc could be compared to a rainbow heralding better things to come (the sun peeping out). Hugs // paul

Yes, Paul, you can add a haiga/picture, Jan is correct sponsors won't see until the contest is finalised. Regards haiku with a haiga please do use the former it will let the sponsor know there is an accompanying image. Mick

All the sponsor sees is the words , they can only see the pic if they visit the poem and hopefully that is after the contest is judged lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Have just seen Susan's comment....is it possible to add the picture to the poem, same as when one adds a video?

Lovely, Jan. This is definitely one of my favorite forms: the interplay of a spectacular photo with a "breath" of poetry invites the reader to stay in the moment bouncing from photo to words. There is something so satisfying about the experience.

Yes it's not something I've not heard of either until I read the rules and as the sponsor can't see the picture only the poem it would be better to call them all haiku:-) hugs Jan xx

Brilliant image Jan, I forgot to mention I saw a pod off Gibraltar swim towards the ship. Good luck. Tom.

Beautiful haiku!! I can't decide about the haiku or haigu. I think I'm going back to haiku since whoever judges doesn't see the pics anyway. What's your take on this?

I agree with you they should just be called haiku as they can't see the pic and I write the poems then find a pic to accompany the poem:-) hugs jan xx
