Had I Only Two Days More

(A Meta-Poem) I'd snatch you from Plato's arms, Would take you, on Whitman's wings, To a slaughterer gone mad Over his canary's death* To watch then in his mirror 'Caring' hands, a loving heart. 2,21.2024 * See Shamlu's brief poem (in free verse): A slaughterer was weeping. He was in love with a little canary. No comments, please!
