Guy

He looked at me as I worked in a store.
*A hasty glance and still my heart leaped up.
The features of his angel’s face – divine!
Such manly beauty I’d not seen before.

My heart was racing when his sweet brown eyes
looked up again, distinctly meeting mine!
A little shy, I hoped he’d speak to me,
and when he did, how pleasant my surprise!

His accent was as sexy as his smile.
An angel with an angel’s voice was he.
To be with him I wanted more and more
as he stood talking to me for a while.

With one week in my town, he had stopped by
my place of work; it made me want to cry
to spend such little time with him. . . then bye.
Forevermore Guy lives in my mind’s eye.

(we got to have one memorable date; this is probably my tenth poem about Guy, pronounced in French as Gee.)

This shy fella made quite an impression, Andrea. Few things are more attractive to me than a deep, melodious voice. Nicely done for the contest. Best wishes for a win.

I cannot remember whenever one of my "Gee" friends had an angels' face, but only an angel such as yourself would know that, Andrea, btw, best wishes -- Aloha!~@wk

How authentic the emotional pull of this is .. hmmm ... Yes, I remember. As memories have a way of doing when one is a writer, this memory served your pen as guided by both brain and emotion. It did tug my heart with the what could have, what might have ... Love, CayCay
