Guttural

Growl
Grasp at life
Flushed out in full flight
Wind's wild moaning warmth
Frisks it, whisked
Up
From fist clench
Fingers curled tense- tight
Unfurl hurts
Gasps
Of air rasped
Hoarse sounds break from husk
Gutted heart
Thumps

Paul, thank you so much for your sensitive observation - yes, feelings can be fierce, anguish and unresolved pain can make us almost become "primal" - the most basic human need to survive might drive us a little "crazy" for a while, especially if we feel overwhelmed, or cornered. Not all will understand the need to write from gut instinct. I have resolved many things, and the feeling of inner peace is more a reality for me now. And I can still write intensely about what is close to my heart...

Thank you for sharing part of 'yourself', Aqua...and I am so glad that you have found that inner peace which makes life more worth living. Your words also show that you can rely on your inner strength. ~ Peace and warm regards // paul

Writing poetry always kept me a bit more sane, in a world which often doesn't make much sense. Poetry helps me to connect to myself and others on a beneficial level. Its important for me to see the good in humans, and to respect the sameness, and the difference. I thank you for your kind interest, Paul- and thoughtful words. Warm Regards~~AquaM~~

This poem is so expressive and emotional, Aqua...even the use of guttural sounding words have served their purpose. If my memory serves me right, this poem is very much related to a shorter one you wrote on an earlier date, "Senryu for Sadness". (Correct me if I'm wrong.) ~ Warm regards ((hugs)) ~paul

I wrote this a little while ago...lol. I will be posting poems from different "times" of my life- as discreetly as I can. Sometimes Ive had to fight for survival- so a little fiercness might come out. I am more comfortable now, with a fuller "range" of expression. I am passionate about life, I have to express it- ( And please continue with your honesty- very helpful..thank you! :-) )
