Gunung Batukaru

The sun shines down on brown embrace, My skin of white to interlace. From east does come, a dawn, a gift Of life and love, so not to miss. Touching face it gently turns Toward that place for which I yearn, See forest green, a flower’s face, The dark gives way for life to wake. A misty mountain calls to me, One heart to heart as lovers be, I smile and nod, not knowing yet, Of what it speaks, my mind so set. But Body hears, and heals heart whole, It slips betwixt the mind and soul. The birds take flight and wheel around, Lizards scamper, across the ground. The wind speaks through a rustled leaf, A dance with light paints gold relief, My dog lifts head and takes a bound, Among tall trees, without a sound. The stream gives voice, a path you see, Where spirits walk down to the sea. Awash with life I stand so still, And lift my head to sup my fill. Embraced by this I share my heart With village deep the place to start, And sing one note so pure and clear, To mountain top, to Spirit Deer, To valley low where rice field grow, To fern to palm now peace I know. I turn around to west now east, A new life found on karma’s keep.
