Gulf

There’s a gulf
A divide
It’s as wide
As Mexico
From the inside
Out to the borderlines

There’s a cause
Raisin d’être
In your head
In the mess yeah
I’m buried in
A sea of broken dreams

There’s a river
And a canyon
And I’m stranded
Cuz I’m standing
On the corner
Hands reaching out

Are you there?
Do you care?
It’s not your fault
 I’m standing here
People like me
Everywhere

There’s a difference
A separation
Widening
Across the nation
Are you aware
Are you?
