Guess It's Over

Never thought it would be easy
After all these years
You’d leave me all alone
To face my lonely fears

Promised me the earth
When I became your bride
Said we were forever
Always side by side

I’m sitting here without you
You were my guiding light
Now you’ve turned your back on me
So I’ve given up without a fight

In time I’ll move on
Now you’ve let me go
One day I may find love again
When my broken heart gets strong

Would I take you back
If you came begging on bended knee
Guess I’m not so sure
I’m getting used to being free

Penned after listening to 3 doors down 'Here without you'

A great song you've chosen as your inspiration... Love is a wonderful thing, but freedom has it's benefits, too... Nice work, Jan. I love that last line! Congrats on your win!

Some people want the best of two worlds; they expect to walk away to have fun, and then to come back as if nothing happened. The answer to them lies in that final line. Well done, Jan. // paul

You might of let me known privately. Even a text would have been better than this...BUT in front of all the Soupers? I am so embarrassed. The only reason I turned my back on you...well I was naked, I am a little shy and ok I'll admit it I have a great ass. I mean I turned back around and you were gone...well I felt like a dick and obviously you didn't.

I'm here without you baby by three doors down, one of the most beautiful songs ,but ahh your words are much deeper sweet Jan..and they touch my heart and soul. How forgranted some people take the love in their life, then one day they wake up to find her or him gone ,or maybe still there but not in heart and soul.Im favouring this one sweet Jan.Glad its fiction dear..Charma

Kick the bum out and don't look back -- I have a song in my head: "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" last line is . . . "get yourself free!!" Great poem -- because it caused a reaction in me!! All the best little one.
