Guardian

I was her guardian. My job was to make sure she was cherished. But this house that we live in is not impermeable. It is not just the sounds of the birds and passing cars that gets inside… There is a process I cannot protect you from. As I mutter my last words to you- Someone new shall acquire your spirit. And you will be taken to somewhere beyond your old home. I am still her guardian. My job is now to pass her by occasionally. As she finds new ways to captivate me.
