Growth

I see you
Wobbling smile through tears
Lingering eyes
Over things that never stay
Tracing the words
Of questions never asked
Glazing back
To the world behind
Holding tighter
Onto the slipping hands
Marking the seconds
You can never live again
Opening the boxes
Of memories made from gold
As you sing
For the world with steady voice
Trembling hands
Hidden in the small pockets of jeans
A stage filled with seven
I see you now
Alone on the ship
Trying to sail across
Growing into
the future you wished
breaking the bonds
of comfort and love
giving yourself wings
as you tear your heart into pieces.
