Growing Pains

Growing Pains The fearful child inside of you Says that’s who you still are. The wounds inflicted when we’re young Can leave behind a scar. You’ll never amount to anything, You’re not worthy to be here And so he puts his doubts in me His anxiety, his fear A self-fulfilling prophecy That’s impossible to bear And so some go along life’s road Completely unaware Others are told you can do as you will Never mind what others feel Just enjoy your life and take what you want You can lie and cheat and steal But you never seem to feel satisfied, You know deep down it’s not true It’s just because they didn’t sacrifice And spend more time with you So you spend your life trying to fill the gap With never ending stuff This vicious cycle of events That’s never quite enough. But when will you both Get it in your head Love others as yourself The wise man said A.Jarvis Circa 2006

>>You’ll never amount to anything, You’re not worthy to be here ------- That's exactly how I imagined the whole world was yelling at me when younger, all the time. It took me decades of excruciatingly painful effort to regain my right to live.
