Growing Pains

She bursts out of class Trying to get away To go home and cry She has no friends Just a house and parents Who are nice Too nice There are no sharp things In her world Nothing harmful In her world The scales fall from her eyes And she realizes where she Really is She needs to get out She tries to find a way out Of her Worst Nightmare She succeeds, but it is bitter indeed For in gaining her freedom She loses the safety of the Illusion
