Growing Gains

I've hidden in too many shadows,
    Of darkness and fear.
Where time loses meaning,
    Going on, year to year.

If I am to move forward,
And change how I have lived.
Can I still grasp my roots,
Even those nourished as a kid?

This growth causes choice moments,
As balance is sought to maintain.
So that decisions are weighed carefully,
And I don't destroy what I may gain.

When approaching these roads,
    Realizing trust is the key.
My faith and my wisdom,
    Will provide answers to see.
