Grow Up

coupled with question, voices turn themselves up
curling the end of the word to make it last forever, to
give a void that beckons an answer, that begs for
something to fill it up.
-------what do you want me to say?
that you were always right & i was
stupid? do you want me to fall into
                 your arms?
well fcuk you.
you've taken my wings right off my back.
left me with no escape & a situation i cannot bear
to sit through,
[watch me fall through the floor-]
watch me as i wave goodbye, as you mumble
'poor girl', as i turn away & begin to
               die.
                                          theydon'texpectathing.
/ i don't know what's worse :
that i carried on so long under your eyes
or that i always secretly wanted your focus.
maybe both in a way. /
