Notes About The Poem

- Grip a Deep Breath -

The word cancer is so crippling
                                          On trembling legs,
                              we are tiny in this airy ceiling height
                                           Despite one had
                                        suspicion in advance
                                 A serious diagnosis - what now?
                              The disease has been given a name

                              // Grip a deep breath and continue
                                  nothing just falls from the sky
                                    - always look ahead - Me and I //

                                The mental pain is tiring in the body
                             No ones ever said your life would be easy
                                     I wish to read all the page of
                                          "The Book Of Life"

                                  Slow down and do your very best
                                         Shave off your self-pity
                                  Our biggest weakness is giving up
                                  Nothing can be done without hope
                                   The goal is to grab the next step
                                 toward living life to the fullest again

Panagiota Romios October 9, 2020 at 2:11 PM We All expire one day, from many reasons. Cancer is one. Doing your best after a diagnosis and staying upbeat is the best. I have lost some close people to cancer. The first cancer patient I knew died before his 16th birthday. As a nurse, you know the host of modalities now available. I like to remember that " Doctors Treat but Only God Heals."
