Grief Enslaved

I have not visited for a year,
oh, in truth your spirits are not here;
as E.E. Cummings wrote, "I carry you in my heart,"
here, there is a cold stone with your names now part.
You are buried, your bones decay, you are engraved;
and with deep grief-  I am forever, ever enslaved.
