Grief and Loss
Gathered together with loved ones all around
reminiscing memories though you don’t hear a sound
isolated in your grief ~ oh how can this be true
even though so many came you feel alone you are not there
for no one knows just how you feel ~ you pray they never will
And afterwards the pain is worse no mention of his name
no they fear it will upset ~ you love his name you’ll ne’er forget
despite your tears despite your pain ~ oh why do they not speak his name
Love so strong that when it’s gone your heart has truly broken
only you will feel such pain ~ so raw like nothing felt before
surely life cannot go on, you'll never laugh nor smile again, but then
someday when you least expect you smile at memories you recollect...
